What Happens After You've Reserved Your kitten

Once you have reserved your kitten with Bengalskaya, we will be in contact with you and update you as things progress. We will let you know after the breeding has been done (it's done), how mom is doing and of course (great), we will let you know as soon as the kittens are born!

It will be time to find a vet, if you have not yet done so.

What Happens After Your kitten is Born

We will notify you once the kittens are born and are doing well, and we will let you know how many males and females there are in the litter, and if you will receive a kitten from this litter or the next. We go by dates of deposits and have to wait until the litter is born to see how many males and females there are. Sometimes it is necessary to have your reservation moved forward to the next litter, if the sex, or color of the kitten you want is not available in the current litter.

We will send out photos every week, so that you can watch the kittens grow! We will try to get close-ups so you can see their personalities, and of course, we will let you know how they are progressing. All immunizations and wormings are done as per our vet's schedule. Socialization starts the day the kittens are born with a lot of human contact and handling (we love kittens).

The balance on your kitten is upon delivery of kitten, if driving. Final payment will be due in cash or cashier's check. We will, if at all possible, drive to meet you all or part way to deliver your kitten if you so wish. We feel that it is less stressful for the kitten. However, due to the increase in fuel prices we will now have to charge a necessary fee for fuel. If we are bringing several kittens, we will charge accordingly.  If you are having your kitten shipped to you via the airlines, the kitten shipping fee is due ten days before the kittens go to their new homes.  We will make all reservations and will take care of everything. We'll let you know the flight number and arrival time. Final payment will also be due by this time. Payment should be sent to Darby or Wendy Sanders, 1045 Oak Road, Harlan, IA 51537 - Pay Pal is also accepted.

Be sure to have a checkup appointment scheduled with your vet. Remember that kittens should not go out in public until they have had all of their immunizations. This is extremely important!

How to Adopt a Bengalskaya Bengal
Bengalskaya kittens are ready for their new homes after 10 weeks of age. They will have been weaned for approximately 5 weeks and they will be eating on their own. Kittens can be chosen as early as 5 weeks and a deposit will hold your kitten until it is ready to travel.

We are happy to help you make arrangements to fly your kitten in the case of long distances. There is an additional fee for this.
There are two basic methods of shipping, either by air freight or by air counter-to-counter service. Air freight is the least expensive, it usually runs between $99-135 within the US. When using this method, there can be a layover of several hours if a change of planes is required. Naturally, in order to do this, the weather must be mild, and the kitten must be old enough to endure several hours in the pet taxi. If the weather is severe, either very hot or very cold, we recommend Counter-to-counter shipping, which will cost between $135-180. Here, the agents hand-carry the kitten to and from the plane, the kitten doesn't have to sit on the loading dock with the freight in bad weather. Also, this service guarantees minimal layover, so the flight time is much quicker.

Airline agents are very careful with the animals, and give them very good care. There is a special climatized, pressurized compartment in the plane where the pets are kept, so they are comfortable in flight. Kittens may be a little frightened by the noise, but generally they are not upset by being shipped. We do not tranquilize before shipping!

International shipping has regulations that depend upon the country of destination, and prices vary.
